Graduation 2020 COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

CCS is happy to be able to celebrate our graduates.  In celebrating our students’ success we must proceed with caution; for that reason we will maintain public health precautions for COVID-19. It is thought to primarily spread person-to-person via respiratory droplets through close contact.

Please be aware that any individual who displays symptoms consistent with COVID-19, has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days, or within the 14 days had close or proximate contact of an individual who had symptoms of COVID-19 or tested positive for COVID-19 is, not permitted to attend the ceremony.

  • All attendees at the graduation gathering are required to remain six feet apart from other attendees at all the times, excluding immediate family members or household members.
  • All chairs for students, guests, and staff will be situated six feet apart.
  • All Attendees at the graduation gathering must wear a mask or face covering.
  • Children over the age of two that are medically able to tolerate a mask are recommended to do so.
  • Graduating students may temporarily remove their mask or face covering while crossing the award area or having their individual photo taken.
  • There will be no person-to-person contact during the celebration.  Individuals may not shake hands.
  • There will be a table set up for diplomas and awards.  Students will be called up by the principal by name to the table to retrieve their diploma and award. At that time they may pose for a photo.
  • In order to adhere to the guidelines established by NYSED and the CDC, we will be limiting the length of our ceremonies.  This will shorten the time that individuals are exposed to each other.
  • Please be mindful that we are still dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic; for that reason CCS is asking that you limit the number of family members attending the graduation.  If possible, we would ask that only two family members per family attend.
  • CDC protocol of cleaning and disinfecting of chairs, podiums, microphone, etc. between the both graduations will be adhered to.
